Prince of Peace!

Endless lists of presents to still get? Christmas cards that still need to go out? Have family that wants to see you? In the Christmas season many of us find it difficult to feel at peace! In our world many people associate Christmas time with stress and anxiety with gifts and family, and just cannot wait for it to be over. But the Lord tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”. Being at peace is different for each person, but God tells us that all we need His peace to accomplish His purposes in our life, and the way to receive His peace is by focusing on Him. Christmas is a time for us to focus on Him and the gift that God gave us in sending His son! Jesus tells us in John 20:21, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” We are to worship Him as the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and Prince of Peace! In thinking about what Peace means on earth, we can think of these as just a glimpse of achieving peace through our Lord and Savior:

P: Presence of Unity with Christ

E: Existence of healthy and newly healed relationships

A: Abandoning anxiety

C: Calling to God for help

E: Exercising peace towards others will help you find peace

It is important in this time of our busy lives to look to God for Peace and to in turn show that Peace towards others. Do not stress over the gifts you must still get or the gifts you want to receive and remember that we have already received our greatest gift of all, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
